Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2025. Last updated: June 12, 2026.
Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how YouAreTube ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects any information you provide while using our service at https://youaretube.com.
By using YouAreTube, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. This policy is written in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable data protection laws.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
YouAreTube is designed with privacy-first principles. We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number)
- Account credentials (we do not require registration or login)
- Payment information (our service is entirely free)
- YouTube URLs you convert - they are sent only to the conversion API and are not logged or stored by us
- Download history on our servers - your history is stored locally in your own browser
2. Information Automatically Collected
Like most websites, our servers may automatically collect limited information for security and analytics purposes:
- IP Address: your IP address may be logged by our hosting provider for security purposes. This data is not used to personally identify you.
- Browser type and version: standard server logs may include your User-Agent string.
- Usage data: anonymous, aggregated statistics (page views, conversion counts) used to improve the service.
3. Local Storage (Download History)
YouAreTube includes a Download History feature that stores your recent conversions locally in your browser using the browser's localStorage API. This means:
- Your download history is never sent to our servers or any third party
- Only you can access it from your own browser
- You can clear your download history at any time from the History page
- If you clear your browser data, your history will be erased
- You can disable localStorage in your browser settings to prevent history storage entirely
4. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: required for the website to function properly (e.g., session management)
- Functional cookies: remember your preferences (selected quality, theme settings)
- Analytics cookies: anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the service (e.g., Google Analytics, if enabled)
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some features.
5. Third-Party Services
YouAreTube relies on the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Conversion API: video conversion is handled by a dedicated backend server. YouTube URLs you submit are processed by this service and are not stored permanently.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: we use Cloudflare's free Turnstile CAPTCHA service to prevent abuse. Turnstile does not use cookies and does not track users across websites. For details, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Analytics: we may use anonymous analytics services to understand how visitors interact with our website. These services collect aggregated, non-identifiable data only.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect YouAreTube and its users:
- All connections are encrypted using HTTPS (TLS/SSL)
- Security headers (Content Security Policy, X-Frame-Options, HSTS) are enforced
- No personal data is stored on our servers
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
YouAreTube does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Our service is designed to be privacy-first and does not collect personal data from any user, regardless of age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

Your YouTube URL submissions are processed by our conversion API, which may be hosted in a different country than your own. By using our service, you consent to this processing. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
YouAreTube reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
